While your Thanksgiving may look a little bit different this year, maybe a little bit smaller than usual, we think it’s important–maybe even more than ever–to make sure that you’re still celebrating in a way that brings you joy. Things are weird, strange, and completely different this year than any other Thanksgiving but even while being cautious, safe, and socially distant, why not create a Thanksgiving tablescape that your (very few) guests will love? We’ve given you some of our favorite Thanksgiving tablescapes inspiration in the past, as well as tips for setting the table but this year we’re focusing on the smaller get-togethers, the outdoor feasts, and the simple touches that will leave a lasting impression in a time that we’re otherwise trying to forget.
Smaller-Scaled Seating Arrangements.
With an in-house limit being set to 10 people in several areas, and in the name of being (and staying) safe, it’s just not the year for large gatherings. Are you hosting for 6 people? 4? 2? Just yourself? Here are a few small-scale table settings for when you can count the number of guests on one hand.
We know that several people are opting to bring their dinner outdoors this year, if the weather allows for it. Here’s some inspiration for when you want to incorporate a little bit of nature into your family feast.
The Simple Finishing Touches.
Whether its a floral centerpiece, a little bit of greenery, a place setting, or a few candles to set the mood, quick and simple touches will go a long way in making this year’s Thanksgiving that much more memorable.
No matter how you’re celebrating this year, whether it’s in sweaters or sweatpants, with wine or whiskey, with ten guests or two, we hope everyone stays happy, safe, & healthy. Happy Thanksgiving!
